I think it’s cause my dad taught me from early on (which makes me lucky/blessed, I know).
But even being kinda handy, I realized recently that I’d not ever actually made anything from scratch all by myself.
We’ve just moved into a rental house and I’m realizing I have so few tools that I need. In an apartment you need pretty much just a hammer and a screwdriver and you’re set. On the rare occasion I needed anything else, I’d just borrow my dad’s.
Not so in a house.
You sorta need tools and things.
Even “obvious” things like a lawn mower. Ya kinda have to have some kind of lawn mower in Florida in the summer.
So anyway – over the past couple weeks, I’ve slowly been acquiring tools. I did purchase a new drill, since that’ll probably be the tool I use most, and I wanted a high-quality one.
But everything else has been secondhand. Garage sales and the like. My mother-in-law also gave me a lot of my father-in-law’s tools from before he passed.
Long story short, now I got a bunch of tools….
… and nowhere to put them.
I need a toolbox!
I’m going to *make* a toolbox!
(Keep in mind: I’ve never made anything from scratch by myself.)
So, yesterday, I did it. I made meself a toolbox. I looked up a couple designs using my incredibly powerful researching skills (*cough* Google *cough*), ended up scrapping those designs, drew up my own plans and went to town.
Check it out! 🙂
