Write In Books

One of the most delightful things is to pick up a book in a used bookstore that you’d like to get, only to find that someone has already not only read it but written in it.

This genuinely excites me!

And it’s because I know that if someone wrote in that book, then they had a conversation with the author.

And I love eavesdropping.

As you read a book, don’t be afraid to devour it. Write in the margins. Scribble notes. Underline great passages and put stars in the corners of the pages with things you want to come back to.

Not only will it keep you focused as you engage with what you’re reading, you’ll be able to look back later and recall the conversation you had with that author.

And it will be delightful.

Peace,

Maximilian Hart
